things have happened oh so quickly.
like i've told some people,
i've spent smth like 7 out of the last 9 days at nsc.
time passes.
fri, sat and sunday was taken up racing (3 days of getting up at 7am). wind coming from the west (wierd angle) on the first two days, then south on the last. felt at ease with the windshifts - it felt so natural to me. current was pushing like crazy.
incidents of note:
1st race: had to retire due to rig malfunction. rigged up the boat from scratch on water.
2nd race: 45 minute long 1st upwind, problems seeing the mark. race was shortened to one triangle - finishing line was slightly screwed, with the mark being set to windward of the com boat. so i lost to jun hao (i was first coming in to finish) because i had gone the wrong side of the com boat. and i wasn't the only one. slightly pissed off for that one.
3rd race: jun hao actually crashed into the side of my stern in a starboard port situation. i let him off after a while, and he eventually let me win to call it even after the incident in the 2nd race.
4th race: rounded the com boat at the start. while everyone went right, elizabeth banged left (further offshore) and came out well in front... haha though we eventually caught her.
5th race: had trouble getting up to the line for the start. marked by the sudden appearance of fishermen, most memorably on the last upwind mark. this fisherman's net had caught on the mark and was also trailing to leeward about 10m. caused trouble, especially when jun hao was caught port side of it, and had to cross it to get to the starboard layline, losing a few positions.
6th race: wind from south on the final day. light wind (which i don't like) and i rounded first mark deep, but caught windshifts on the 2nd upwind to catch jun hao and finish 2nd behind alvin hong.
7th race: start was everything, almost one port tack up to the mark. lead from start to finish. jun hao was deep but banged left corner on the 2nd upwind to catch up.
8th race: wind was up. i hung on for 3rd, alvin winning again.

yesterday we packed the boats into the container for transportation to australia. my ssf boat was really hanged from the ceiling in some ingenious manner. dumped badminton rackets, ball and all in as well, haha.
thx to jeanette's mom for the 2nd nasi lemak i had in two days.
and when i got home, my maid had nasi lemak for lunch! argh. she was kind enough to get me smth else.
mark patterson finally replied. i will have to decide on the package, and hopefully seal the deal.
realised i had calvin and shu yan's numbers mixed. some humourous conflicts there.
on a separate note, i remember pple like julius and russell complaining about how she's a tell tale and a backstabber and what not. but i think she's one of the nicest pple i've ever met.
going to meet her and some other pple at tampines later today. deciding between dota with calvin or gym... well i've had too much time on the pc so i'm going down to nsc again. i want to repair the sail anyway.
after that we're all going to changi airport to welcome the sea games team back... and prepare for our treat! haha.
